Next A-SPIN Meeting - Tuesday, May 15, 2001, Presentation - How Do You Spell Success? Synergistic Performance Improvement, One Project at a time, presented by George Brotbeck, TeraQuest Metrics, Inc.
Presentation Abstract
Increasingly, software development and information technology-driven organizations are pursuing performance improvement based on multiple reference models. Among the most prevalent of these are the Software Engineering Institute’s Software Capability Maturity Modelsm (SW-CMMsm), and the Project Management Institute’s Project Management Model of Knowledge (PMBoKÒ). In implementing performance improvement initiatives, it is important to have focused priorities and to avoid redundant efforts. However, it is also important to leverage the many potential synergistic relationships that exist among the different models. This talk will look at project-focused performance improvement, drawing on both the SW-CMM and the PMBoK. The use of Project Launch Workshops to facilitate both project initiation and project remediation will be described.
