Next A-SPIN Meeting - Tuesday, January 15, 2002,
Presentation: The Art and Science of Software Process, presented by Steven Teleki.

PRESENTATION OVERVIEW:

Prepare to leave some of your long-held assumptions about software process behind when you listen to Steven Teleki present "The Art and Science of Software Process." Hear two important reasons why you should care about the process that you and your team use to create software, and learn about the obstacles that hinder your team's process improvement. Discover 12 high performance software development tips that you can incorporate into your daily development routine, and learn how to refocus your development priorities to be more competitive in the post dot com economy.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER:

Mr. Teleki has 15 years of wide-ranging experience in the software industry. He is passionate about creating high-quality software on time and on budget. He focuses on understanding and improving both individual and team software development performance. He believes that every developer can increase his or her software development performance way beyond what commonly assumed possible.

Improving individual performance is a win-win scenario for both the company and the individual: a high performing individual is highly marketable; a high performing organization is highly profitable.

During his career Mr. Teleki served in a variety of roles, including: Software Quality Director, Software Process Director, Development Team Leader, Senior Software Engineer, User Interface Designer, Usability Specialist, Software Developer.

His understanding of both people and technology makes him uniquely capable of building outstanding software organizations. He acts as a coach and mentor to development and testing teams. Under his mentorship software engineers have improved their performance in areas of software project planning, personal software process measurement, software design, and implementation.

Outside work he manages the Practical Software Engineering Network (http://pseng.net/) and serves on the board of the Austin Software Process Improvement Network (http://austin-spin.org/). He lives with his wife and three daughters just outside of Austin, Texas.
