Susan Rosenbaum
Software Metier Manager, Schlumberger

Susan Rosenbaum

Susan Rosenbaum has a B.A. in Mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin and an M.S. in Computer Science (College of Engineering) from the University of Texas at Arlington. She has been working for over 20 years in the field of computer science and software engineering, both as a programmer and ultimately as a senior manager. She has worked in several companies, joining Schlumberger in 1990 after escaping from 6 years of listening to the siren call of Silicon Valley in northern California. Her career at Schlumberger has been focused in a variety of management positions in different business segments of the company. Susan's current position is that of Schlumberger Software Metier Manager. In this role, she interacts with the software/IT community across Schlumberger to ensure that we are hiring, "inspiring" and training the best people and that the community is using the most appropriate software engineering processes, techniques, and tools. A big effort in Schlumberger is in the area of Knowledge Management and Susan is at the forefront of working with the IT/Software community to capture and utilize "best practices and lessons learned" for our activities. What I love most about my career at Schlumberger is that I've had 7 different positions in my 12 years of the company---just when I would start to feel complacent, I get thrown another challenge. I just love that!
