The UT-Austin Master’s in Engineering Management program combines core management curriculum and engineering technical courses giving engineers a tech-savvy alternative to a traditional MBA. This program is designed to meet the growing demand for technical leaders who have the ability to manage business change and solve problems with innovative solutions.


The 30-credit hour program is comprised of 10 courses, including two project courses, Project A and Project B. Students follow a prescribed course sequence, which includes course work in management, negotiations, marketing, engineering economics, and product development. This degree prepares you to move into advanced engineering management positions, or business leadership roles and allows you to strategically plan your next career move.

CLASS FORMAT

Classes are scheduled to meet only one weekend, Friday and Saturday, per month, allowing busy professionals to earn a degree while continuing to work full time. Engineering Management is also offered online through a synchronous viewing option if you would prefer to attend class remotely. Remote students virtually attend class live with onsite students. This program has been ranked as one of the top five best online engineering management programs in the nation based on awards, recognition and return on investment, by Super Scholar. The Cockrell School of Engineering has also been ranked as the ninth best engineering school in the nation for online degrees by OnlineU based on affordability, accessibility, and quality of the programs offered.

Who Should Apply
