IEMC 2007 Program Tracks

TRACK 1: The New Stars: Engineers: The New Leadership Class.

Track 1: The New Stars

Description: This track covers all aspects of managing engineering projects, including organizational development, engineering management, disruptive and emerging technologies, forecasting and technology prediction, globalization, industrial design and sustainability, knowledge management, management of complex systems, new product development, R&D management, software technology management and virtual enterprises.

TRACK 2: The Creative Stars: The Growth of the Creative Class and the Role of Universities in Developing Creativity

Track 2: The Creative Stars

Description: The growth of the creative class and the role of universities in developing communities. In this track, keynote speakers and panelists will discuss how a community can grow and develop a flourishing technology community. We provide a primer or "How To" manual for communities attempting to develop and grow through technology.

Track 2 includes:

Panel Discussion: "Vision to Reality: Creating a Technology Center"
Three realms of activity contribute to establishment of creative centers: technical, economic, and social. Growing a creative technology center requires more than a critical mass of technical people. Aligning economic and sociopolitical forces as well is required for success.
