Professional Background Narendra K. Gosain, Ph.D., PE, is Senior Principal and Executive Director of the Structural Diagnostics Group for Walter P. Moore and Associates. In his 34-year career, Dr. Gosain has designed over two dozen major structures throughout the United States, including commercial, industrial, and medical structures. As an adjunct professor for 16 years in the College of Civil Engineering at Rice University in Houston, Dr. Gosain has shared his expertise with later generations of structural engineers and architects.

For the last decade, he has directed Walter P. Moore and Associates' assessment, restoration, rehabilitation and litigation support team. He has broad experience in the analysis of specialized rehabilitation challenges. For example, he was called in as a structural specialist to help in the restoration of the historical San Jacinto Monument in Houston.

He has directed the structural design of many of the firm's most prominent projects, including the Compaq Center (soon to be Lakewood Church) and the historic and award-winning expansion of The Astrodome in Houston.

A paper authored by Dr. Gosain and Kenneth Zimmerman in 2004 entitled, "Astrodome - An Engineering Marvel of the 1960's" was recently selected by the Historic American Engineering Record (HAER) for the permanent files of the Library of Congress.

Education Dr. Gosain obtained his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Civil Engineering in 1973 from Rice University, Houston and Master of Engineering in Earthquake Engineering, in 1965 from the University of Roorkee, India

Presentations He has given lectures on forensics engineering at the University of Texas in Austin, University of Kansas, Lawrence and Clemson University. Additionally, Dr. Gosain has made recent presentations to professional organizations. The following is a sampling of some presentations given:
