ERCOT Energized: the good, the bad, and the ugly of the new Texas Nodal Market Design

Eric S. Schubert is Director, Regulatory Affairs, ERCOT, for BP Energy Company. His professional experience includes working at the Public Utility Commission of Texas, Research and Planning Consultants, the Chicago Board of Trade, and Bankers Trust Company. During his tenure at the Public Utility Commission of Texas, Dr. Schubert was project leader in Commission proceedings involving wholesale market design and resource adequacy issues in ERCOT. Dr. Schubert has authored articles on wholesale market design and resource adequacy issues with a focus on the evolution of electricity deregulation in a policy setting. Eric S. Schubert has a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Schubert also has published articles in financial history on the topics of stock market bubbles and financial crises in Western Europe during the 18th Century.
