ERCOT Energized: the good, the bad, and the ugly of the new Texas Nodal Market Design

Online registration is now closed. We will be accepting onsite registration May 2.

About ERCOT Energized: 2009 is slated to be a pivotal year for the Texas electric market as it transitions to a nodal market design. Are the market participants ready? Who will thrive in this new electric market structure? What lessons can be learned from other restructured markets? The looming change forces many questions which this one-day symposium is poised to address. Attendees can expect to leave with answers to the following:

  • What is beneath the surface of the ERCOT nodal market that is coming in 2009?
  • What long-term implications does the "new" electric market structure bring?
  • What are the major issues to look out for when preparing for the changes?
  • Is it possible to understand and manage the risks?

In addition to the aforementioned areas, the symposium will also address through presentations and panels the following: an unbiased review of the ERCOT design, the similarities and differences between existing restructured markets in the U.S. and Australia, how the nodal market design will affect the generation development decisions for investment in ERCOT, and distributed resources and energy efficiency programs.
