Communication In and About Virtual Teams
Craig R. Scott
This session will examine a variety of communication issues surrounding the growing use of virtual teams in the workplace. We will examine some of the key communication technologies that enable virtual teamwork, discuss effective interaction among virtual team members, explore the extent to which virtual teams communicate a distinct identity to others, reflect on how virtual teams are talked about by various stakeholders, and suggest practical advice for improving communication in and about these teams. A combination of research-based findings and participants' actual experiences will be used to examine each of these topic areas.
