Steven D. Prough
Steven D. Prough retired from Intel Corporation as manager of global quality training and workforce development in 2000. He served earlier as an engineering manager in the company’s Technology Development group. He was granted two US patents in VLSI microelectronic packaging. Prior to joining Intel, Mr. Prough held engineering and management positions with several major US corporations including: Motorola, General Electric, Westinghouse and General Dynamics. Most of his career was spent in the semiconductor industry and he helped establish global manufacturing capabilities in Asia, Europe and South America.
Prough holds BS and MBA degrees, and he helped develop an MBA in Technology Management curriculum for the University of Phoenix where he continues teaching as practitioner faculty. He represented Intel on the Joint Arizona Consortium for Manufacturing Education and Training (JACMET) and was corporate sponsor for the annual University of Arizona Reliability Engineering and Test conferences.
Mr. Prough joined IEEE in 1978 and has been a member of CHMT (now CPMT), Reliability, Education and Engineering Management societies. He was a CHMT BOG member from 1988-1993 and is past chairman of the International Electronics Manufacturing Technology Symposium. Awards include: Achievement in VLSI Packaging Technology, Service to IEMT symposium and Service to CHMT BOG. He is author and presenter of numerous IEEE conference papers and publications in the IEEE transactions.
