Ines Meneses
Ines Meneses was born in Brazil and has lived in Austin, Texas for the last 5 years.
At Freescale Semiconductors, company spun-off from Motorola, Ines works as cross-cultural trainer and global project manager.
Ines provides customized training, facilitation, and coaching in Brazilian Culture and Business Practices, Doing Business in the US, Cross-Cultural Communication, and How Cultural Values Shape Business Behaviors.
Until 2003, Ines was also a Diversity leader, and she implemented training programs with diverse speakers on topics as varied as Doing Business in China, Gays and Lesbians in the Workplace, and Expatriate Experience. Ines led her organization to win the Diversity Organization of the Year 2002 Award (an internal Motorola competition).
As project manager, Ines has led several global virtual teams. Her teammates have included people located in Japan, China, France, United Kingdom, Germany, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, and United States.
Ines is the primary interface with key clients and stakeholders for business requirements, gap analysis, and technologies for exchange of data between Motorola Semiconductors and key distribution customers. Using technologies such as EDI and RosettaNet, Ines connects the world and links global customers’ supply chains to Motorola’s supply chain.
In Brazil, Ines worked as a consultant in Geographic Information Systems for corporations such as McDonald’s, Blockbuster, and Safra Bank. Ines trained and coached clients so that they would maximize the use of their information systems investments. In her consulting projects, Ines advised US American companies on how to successfully expand and compete in the Brazilian market. In addition, after attending software training in the US, Ines adapted the documentation and delivered the training in Brazil.
She completed her Master’s in Business Administration with a concentration in Information Management at the University of Texas at Austin. Since graduation, Ines has been going back to the University as a guest speaker on cross-cultural issues. Her Bachelor’s degree is in Business Administration at Fundacao Getulio Vargas, Sao Paulo, Brazil, one of the best Business Schools in Latin America.
Ines is a native Portuguese speaker, fluent in English and Spanish.
Ines also volunteers time to the community. She is a Brown Belt instructor in the Aikido martial art at Aikido of Austin (www.austinaikido.org). In addition, she provides coaching in life skills at Millennium 3 Education (www.millennium3education.com), an organization that offers workshops designed to enhance personal effectiveness. Ines works with adults, teenagers, and children.
Ines has traveled in Latin America (Mexico and Brazil) and around Asia (Japan, China, India, Indonesia, and Thailand).
