LaVerne H. Council
LaVerne H. Council serves as Dell’s Global Vice President for I/T Global Technology Development and Services. In this position, Ms. Council is responsible for designing and managing Global Information Technology and Infrastructure. This includes network and platform engineering, collaboration technology, enterprise application interfaces and middleware. In addition, LaVerne has responsibility for I/T Security as well as the Global Development Centers in Brazil and India. LaVerne is a member of Dell’s Global Diversity Leadership Council, US Ethics Committee and is involved in local and national events to expand Dell’s participation in the area of diversity and community service.
Prior to joining Dell, Ms. Council was a partner at Ernst & Young, LLP. She led the Global Supply Chain Strategy Practice, focusing on Life Sciences accounts. Before that, Ms. Council was responsible nationally for Ernst & Young’s Supply Chain Strategy Team for all markets.
Ms. Council is a member of the Executive Leadership Council, March of Dimes (Board Member, 2000 and 2002), and Austin Partners for Education. She has been featured in published articles in Diversity/Careers in Engineering & Information Technology, the Austin Business Journal and Dell’s internal publication Leadership Direct. In July, 2003 LaVerne was presented with the prestigious Austin Business Journal's Profiles in Power award.
