John R. Purvis III

John R. Purvis III has been a practicing engineer for more than 30 years at IBM, St. Edward’s University, National Instruments, Texas Instruments and TRW. He has experience in software development, computer systems integration, marketing, higher education, and data center operations. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in Texas, and a Senior Member of IEEE. John is active with the local chapters of both the Computer and the Engineering Management Societies, and is a past Chair of the Central Texas Section of IEEE. He has authored or co-authored numerous articles in trade publications and conference presentations.
