Chris J. McDonald, previously manager of Intel’s flash memory wafer fab in Colorado Springs, Colo., is currently senior vice president of plant operations at Samsung Austin Semiconductor.
Previous to his assignment in Colorado, Mr. McDonald was Intel’s senior assignee at International SEMATECH in Austin, where he was director of the Advanced Technology Development Facility. He was with Intel for 20 years prior to taking the Samsung position.
Mr. McDonald’s 30-year semiconductor career includes management positions in the areas of engineering, manufacturing, yield/product, and quality and reliability. He also has published articles and taught short courses on a range of management topics such as Statistical Process Control, Technology Transfer, Training, Yield Improvement, and Future Trends in Manufacturing.
His formal education includes a B.S. degree in Electronics from the University of Southampton, UK, and an MS in Electrical Engineering from National Technological University.
