William Hurley has over 15 years of experience in groundbreaking technology solutions, and has earned a number of honors and awards, including IBM's Master Inventor title; an IBM Pervasive Computing Award; multiple awards for innovation from Apple Computer; and a 2004 Apple Design Award for an open source user interface for infrastructure management. Prior to joining Qlusters William was CTO and founder at Symbiot, the pioneering firm in the application of risk metrics and non-equilibrium risk modeling to adaptive network security. William is also a founder of the OpenSIMS project, the world's first framework for collaborative "Community Centric Security." William holds 12 patents granted for his work in the research and development labs of IBM, Tivoli Systems, and Apple Computer. Recently he founded the Open Management Consortium, a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the adoption, development and integration of open source in systems management.
