Transcripts
Official transcripts are required from each university you have attended. Junior college and community college transcripts are not required. If you transferred credits to a second university to complete a degree program, please note that you still need to request copies of transcripts from the university the credits were originally earned. Copies or unofficial transcripts will not be accepted.
Contact each of your previous academic institutions and request official transcripts be directed to the following address:

Applicants who attended school outside of the U.S.
YYou must have an undergraduate degree equivalent to a four-year U.S. degree. In order to apply for admission, you will need an official copy of your transcript and certificate/diploma included with your application materials. Following are two options for submitting transcripts from your international schools:
1) Many international schools now have the capability to send your official transcripts to our office via mail. If this is the case for you, please have your transcript mailed to:
| UT Austin - CLEE Attn: Engineering Master's Application PO Box H Austin, Texas 78713 |
OR | Physical Address (for FedEx, etc.) UT Austin - CLEE Attn: Engineering Master's Application 2613 Speedway Austin, TX 78712-1064 |
2) If you already have an original copy of your transcript and degree certificate/diploma, then it will be necessary for you to provide it to the staff at the Graduate and International Admissions Center (GIAC) for verification. The process for this is simple and helps to ensure the safety of your documents. The GIAC office is located at 2608 Whitis Avenue, which is at the corner of Whitis and Dean Keaton (formerly 26th street) on the UT Austin campus. Their telephone number is 512.475.7390. Please take your original documents to a foreign evaluator in this office. They will be able to examine your document and once they have verified that it is authentic, they will make a copy for your UT file and return the original to you. This can be done while you wait and usually takes only a few minutes. This process will eliminate the chance of your original document getting lost in the mail or misplaced in someone’s office. Please note that if you are an applicant who has received your undergraduate degree from another country and you do not provide your original diploma document as described above, you will be barred from registration for any UT Austin classes.
