Circuit Design Program Overview

Tailored for busy schedules, these two-year programs provide the unique opportunity to pursue a master’s degree while continuing to work full-time. What’s more, you will receive the same Master’s Degree that a traditional, full-time graduate student at The University of Texas at Austin receives. Students are presented with the best the top ranked Cockrell School of Engineering has to offer: rigorous coursework that encompasses the latest advances and core fundamentals. It is the combination of challenging curriculum, immediately applicable tools, and national recognition that prepares tomorrow’s leaders for success while equipping them with an educational experience ranked among the finest in the nation.

The Engineering Circuit Design Program (MSE CD), offered by the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, provides students with an understanding and ability to master the analysis and design of complex systems, including analog and digital circuits that are relevant to leading companies in the semiconductor industry. This specialized program is taught by both academia and industry experts, and is reinforced by hands-on learning in design laboratories with state-of-the-art computer-aided design tools. The program will enable students to gain an understanding of the fundamentals of signal processing, communication theory, system design and modeling. Students graduating from the program are able to design semiconductor tools for today and adapt them to the new technologies of tomorrow. Individuals with electrical and computer engineering backgrounds will find themselves on the exciting frontier of developing circuit design systems.

Upon completion of all the program requirements, a student is awarded a Master of Science in Engineering degree with a major in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a concentration in Circuit Design. The program is administered by the Center for Lifelong Engineering Education (CLEE).
