Raj Bhattarai

Raj Bhattarai earned his master’s degree in Environmental Health Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He is the Manager of the Environmental and Regulatory Services Division of the Austin Water Utility where he has worked since 1984. A licensed professional engineer and a diplomat of the American Academy of Environmental Engineers, Raj’s work focuses on water and wastewater treatment, water quality and regulations. He is the recipient of the Water Environment Federation’s Gascoigne Medal for “significant operation contribution” and the Water Environment Association of Texas’s Mahlie Award for “significant contributions to the art and science of wastewater treatment and water pollution control.”
