Dr. Pierre Choquet graduated in 1978 in geological engineering from Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal, Canada and he holds a doctorate degree in rock mechanics from Ecole des Mines de Paris in France. From 1982 to 1993 he was Assistant and then Associate Professor at the department of Mining and Metallurgy of Laval University in Quebec City where he conducted research and teaching in rock mechanics, applied geology and drilling and blasting. From 1994 to 2007, he has held senior level Sales and Corporate Development positions with two manufacturing firms of geotechnical and structural instruments and data acquisition systems in Canada and the United States. He joined RST Instruments in his current capacity of Vice-President of Sales in early 2007. Over the years, he has been involved in numerous geotechnical instrumentation projects in North America and overseas and he has authored several technical papers on geotechnical instrumentation and related subjects.
